Re: Dustin's Project Paper by dblasiusdblasius, 13 May 2009 09:12

Here is my final project paper and the presentation slides shown in class on Tohono O'odham Culture and the Internet.

Feel free to ask any questions you may have, thanks.

Alright, so I just finished polishing my paper on privacy. I hope you find it interesting. I tried to add information to what we have already learned in class, without being redundant.

I'm still working on the presentation, and should have it up by tomorrow.

Good point, Dave. This is certainly an extreme case, to take one's life because of a MySpace hoax, but bullying online can also ruin a person's reputation in ways that alter their identity for a long time afterwards. There are times when that is just as damaging without having to resort to suicide. (I saw this on facebook, too.)

Good story, Dan. Question: Does having Roberstonian Translocation mean that your progeny is likely to have more severe genetic mutations? The way I understand it, which is a bit obtuse, is that it really does not create problems for you now. Is that right?

I am Abdullah Alsaffar and i am from kuwait and i am majoring in MIS. I am planning on taking Master in MIS here in Eller College. I hope after that i will get my ph.d also here from Eller. Technology is my life and my life is full of technologies. Today, i had an exam at 9:30am and i sat my alarm at 8:30. When i opened my eyes, i saw the time is 11am. "OMG, why the alarm did not go off?" then i found out that i sat my alarm on 8:30pm not am ;p

hey guys .. you can download our presentation slides from
let us know if you have any questions.

I already posted this on facebook, but I wanted to go more in depth. The cyberbullying initiative stemmed from this incident While cyberbullying is horrible, I think attempts to regulate it will not only be futile but cause additional free speech burdens. I think it should be up to Myspace etc. and the users, not Congress. You can read the bill

I agree with Mike (better late than never). I'm from Japan. I hope I can graduate with the MIS degree this semester. At the end of this month I need to go back to my home country, Japan, because fortunately I found my position at the FUJITSU. I don't have a funny story, either, but it would be funny if the FUJITSU end up with not hiring me because of the bad economy. I hope that's not going to happen.

I guess this was supposed to be done at least a week ago (better late than never, right). I'm Mike and Accounting is actually my primary major. I plan on pursuing a career in accoutning upon graduation. Originally from Denver, but got tired of snow so I transferred to the U of A from CU-Boulder. I don't have a great funny story, but I have had a few incidences walking up and down the stairs in Berger Auditorium… I've fallen down (and surprisingly enough up) the stairs in front of a largre crowd more than once… Once time was when I was trying to slip out of class discretely and ate it walking up the stairs, failing to achieve the discrete part.

Great. That's one. What about the rest of you??

Professor Weisband,

I am almost done with my paper, and would like to present my topic (E-Commerce) this coming Tuesday (4/28/2009).

Well my name is Nick and i am NOT graduating this semester. I am from San Diego, but was born in Chicago and spent six years living in Hong Kong. I was in Hong Kong during the handover from British to Chinese rule which was a bit interesting, although not much changed as a result of the handover really.
